Morals, where art thou?

Dear readers,

This is a very serious post regarding several instances of moral disparity.  We grow up learning right and wrong from family, schools and everyone we interact with throughout our lives.  It is up to each individual to make the conscious decision to make the right choice when faced with an event.   OK, how serious can it be with a photo of Homer Simpson?

In China,  a young toddler, Wang Yue, had wandered into the street and was struck by a car.  The driver then proceeded forward, running over the toddler with the rear tire and not stopping to help.  As crazy as it sounds; as the child lay bleeding, more than a dozen passersby walk, ride motor bikes and drive past without care.  Some motorists swerve to avoid the injured child and three more people walk past when the child is hit by a different truck.  I was going to include the video, but could not continue to watch after the first few people walked past.  The child died and recently, the two drivers were arrested. http://content.usatoday.com/communities/ondeadline/post/2011/10/two-arrests-in-hit-and-run-death-of-chinese-toddler/1

I know.......you're reading and saying, but it's in China.   Sharks kill an average of 10 people a year worldwide.....hit and run drivers kill more in 3 days in the US alone.   Will add a link to informative site regarding hit and run in the US.

A bit early in my bid for the presidency to write this.....how can people say that " gays and lesbians will ruin the sanctity of marriage " when heterosexuals have been stomping on the sanctity ( remember love, honor, obey....yada yada yada ) for so many years?

And how about those "Ponzi" schemes?  Take other people's money, spend it on yourself, try to flee and go to jail....in the meantime, the people you have bilked have nothing.

Guess we just have to be more vigilant and realize you get what you pay for, or in some cases....you don't.  Need to be more compassionate and understanding.

One of my favorite songs from a movie.....have a better day everyone....
