Hello readers,
For only the second time since I began the blog ( and announced my intent to run for president in 2016 ) have I been asked the following question:
"You are running for President? Shouldn't you start at Governor or become a Senator first"
I told the person to "read my lips"....... deep breath...
1. How many of the Lawyers we see running for President have been to a foreign country, except to have drinks on the beach while they get a tan? Zilch.....nada.
2. How many years exactly is someone required to serve a political role, milking the system for all they can and losing the trust of those they are supposed to be representing...before running for President? None, zero....zip.
3. I can only say this so many times....and maybe some day...more people will believe me " I may not have political connections, but I don't want them...my only concern is to truly represent the American people and help guide our country back to firmer territory , a stronger economy and a Government that truly represents all Americans "
You can quote me on that.
Have a great day.
Trevor
Truthfully, the hard part is going to be fundraising and name recognition. You are going to be up against people who have millions of their own dollars to put into their campaigns. Not saying that it can't be done, but need to start ASAP to put together a plan. You will need committees in every state to get petitions signed to have your name on the ballot; to do fundraising; and to handle the media so you get the word out to the people. You will have to convince the media it is worth their while to follow you and report on your activities. It can be done...it isn't going to be easy.
ReplyDeleteRoger that Jane...taking nothing for granted but hope that I get support or endorsed by Military and Veterans groups. More trying to send a message...know for a fact it will not be easy..especially when I let people know that I intend to run my campaign with $250,000 ( total ) against the GOP ( 86 Mil ) or Dems ( 130 Mil ). Planning to use as much social media ( free ) and get newspapers and news groups as excited about the campaign as myself. Military hasn't been easy, at least since 1995 with the Bosnian war and likely won't finish easy. I can handle four hard years...and with friends that help logistically and help prod me ( so I don't lose focus ) the better off I will be!! Thanks again!
DeleteYou need a good campaign manager that can take the pressure off you, so that you can be out with the people and let that person handle the "office". It has to be someone you will trust with your life. Someone who has the same views on just about everything. Almost like a twin. Preferrably someone who is well organized, and who is prepared to handle the "politics" of running for office. This person is going to sit down with you as soon as you are ready, to map out a plan. I don't mean to be prodding you, but I know how hectic it is going to be for you and Ginger. You are going to undertake the hardest job anyone has ever undertaken, and that is running for office. In this day and age, I often wonder why people do it...but, I know why, I just then wonder who has the superhuman strength!
